Alicia: How are you this morning babe?
Klaus: Hey, look - I'll have none of that. I want to see what you're hiding.
Alicia: Who says I'm trying to hide it from you? I don't want you to see it yet...
Klaus: Yet... yet!? What are you waiting for... Maria is out there alone and you expect me to sit and wait for you?
Alicia: (Sighs) Look - here's the thing. I know you probably won't believe me here... but the reason why you saw me in the club the other night... we wasn't looking for you. Of course, when we saw you... I took the oppurtunity while my colleague dealt with something else.
Klaus: Ok... so what was he dealing with?
Alicia: That's why I've brought you here.
Klaus: What is this?
Alicia: It's all the information we've recieved on a certain man that believe it or not... you came into contact with that night.
Klaus: Ok...
Alicia: His name is Najjar Rami Wasem.
Klaus: I know the guy.
Alicia: Born and raised in Ramashan... moved to Denland from the age of ten. He then returned to Ramashan upon becoming adult and fought as a paramilitary. Then... we found him here, in Rodherland... and nobody knows why.
Klaus: Would it help if I were to tell you that another man I knew knows that same fact?
Alicia: Yes?
Klaus: And truth betold, he was in that club that night, too.
Alicia: Ok. Who is this guy?
Klaus: He works for me. He's an employee of mine, in charge of international affairs. Barely seen around the offices though, and I often wonder why.
Alicia: Can you tell me his name? He may know something that we do not.
Klaus: Harry. Harry Lindström.
Alicia: Oh, ok. Harry Lindström. Remind me to jot his name down.
Klaus: As soon as I mentioned his name, she appeared pretty put-off and somewhat distant. I was ever-increasingly losing what little faith I'd found in her already, and it was a matter of time before I would crack. Still, at least I still had Hugo if push came to shove...
Klaus: Aha! That's it! I've found where he's located! Here, have your laptop back.
Klaus: So, would you now like to explain to me why you wanted me to see that?
Alicia: I think Najjar knows something about Maria.
Klaus: What makes you reach that conclusion?
Alicia: Like I said... nobody knows what Najjar is up to nowadays, and it seems so secretive that even we couldn't find out after the many months we've investigated into his case... and plus, we've seen Najjar enter Wardline before.
Klaus: What!? When!?
Alicia: We believe he had once ties with Henneman, but they now no longer exist, because of recent events which you're most definitely aware of. Najjar may not have killed Henneman, but I feel he's somewhat responsible for his death... even kidnapping that poor girl.
Klaus: What do you want me to do?
Alicia: Terminate him? Oh, I don't know. Whatever you wish. I'm offering you help here. Najjar is the lead. Find out what he's up to.
Klaus: Woah, woah... hang on a minute... you want me to kill him!?
Alicia: If he's to blame of course.
Klaus: He's not going to tell me what he's up to.
Alicia: Oh, he will. Bash him around a bit. It's obvious. Najjar has something to do with this... I suggest you wash that hand you shook his hand with, don't you think?
Klaus: I was deeply concerned. Somewhat hesistant, I was prepared to pay Najjar a visit for all it was worth.
Klaus: To infiltrate him, I knew I needed a disguise of some sort...
Klaus: This is the one...
Klaus: I was still reluctant about trusting Bocaletti...
Klaus: But, a lead is a lead I guess.
Klaus: ... and I was ready.
Woman: I should maybe get out and get changed, Najjar...
Najjar: No, no! You don't want to do that. We've only just started...
Woman: Yeah, and we're out in the open here. If you want to give me what's coming to me darling... then you better resort to the bedroom, don't you think?
Najjar: Hmmm...
(Woman splashes Najjar)
Najjar: AH! What did you do that for!?
Woman: (Giggles) Sorry...
Najjar: You got wet my bloody turban! Who do you think you are!?
Woman: I'm serious, Najjar. If we want some fun, we're going to have to have it somewhere more private. I don't want to become a victim to any pervs out there...
Klaus: Hmm, I think I'm more interesting in that beautiful clear blue sky, so don't worry... I won't be interested in your business, Najjar.
Najjar: Who on Alterra are you!?
Klaus: Who do you think I am?
Najjar: Shit! Cops!
Klaus: That's absolutely spot on, Najjar! Freeze! You're under arrest!
Klaus: I tried my best to act like a cop, talk like a cop and move like a cop... but all what mattered now was moving one step closer to finding the girl.
Klaus: Hold it! Or I'll shoot!
Najjar: In a street with residents!? You're fucking mad!
Klaus: You can run, but you can't hide Najjar!
Najjar: What makes you think I'm NOT going to run away from sight while wearing just my swimming trunks and my turban!?
Klaus: Hiding makes you become out of sight...
Najjar: Not if I cannot supposedly hide!
Klaus: You can jump and sprawl all you like, but I'm up for it! I'm as fit as a fiddle!
Najjar: I don't want to listen to your cheesy remarks!
Klaus: Bloody hell...
Najjar: WOAH!
Najjar: Agh!
Najjar: Marvelous.
Klaus: Najjar! Come out! Stop playing games with me here!
Najjar: (Exhales)
Najjar: AGH!
Klaus: Gaagh!
Klaus: I ask you to refuse assault or else I will shoot!
Najjar: You're no fucking cop...
(Gunshot)
Klaus: Najjar...
Klaus: I want to know something...
Najjar: Hey... I recognise you! You're the guy that Burton brought along with him to the club the other night... why are you doing this!? (Coughs)
Klaus: Do you know about a certain Stephan Henneman? Have you spoke to him before!? Tell me!
Najjar: You're Klaus Hagel!
Klaus: TELL ME!
Najjar: (Swallows) Stephan... Stephan... I know...
Najjar: ... him...
Klaus: Can you tell me... oh... woah, woah, woah, Najjar!
Najjar: You made a big mistake, Klaus. I don't have long enough left to tell you why. But you made... you made... a BIG mistake.
Klaus: Why!? Why!? TELL ME WHY!
Klaus: This was the point where I was angry. Angry and alone. I didn't have a clue what to do.
Klaus: But then I suddenly decided that he wouldn't have cared... I was taking lives and I hadn't saved one yet.
Klaus: I was a dead man.
Klaus: Why are you driving me around so worryingly fast?
Hugo: There's nothing to worry about it, Klaus. You're running out of time, aren't you?
Klaus: I don't know... do you?
Hugo: You want this over and done with just as quick as I do. Now, your car has been found.
Klaus: Where?
Hugo: Never mind where. Let's say a 'colleague' of mine came across it the other day. They're obviously willing to hand you a helping hand too. Ha, he found your fucking car.
Klaus: Tell me who he is.
Hugo: Never mind who he is. He doesn't matter yet. May I ask what you got up to the other night?
Klaus: With who?
Hugo: That girl.
Klaus: She's erm... offering me her help.
Hugo: Oh, is that so? Wonderful. But what's wrong with my help?
Klaus: Nothing.
Hugo: Well then...
Klaus: She's a journalist.
Hugo: You fucking what!?
Klaus: Yet she's willing to help...
Hugo: Too right she is. Why on Alterra was she in the club?
Klaus: I had decided that it probably wasn't the most suitable option to tell him about Najjar just yet. I was supposed to be loyal to him, but I somewhat only wanted to keep it between myself and Alicia.
Hugo: Why was she in the club?
Klaus: Looking into me, of course... but she explained that she's willing to help and everything. It's a long story.
Hugo: So do you trust her?
Klaus: Not particuarly.
Hugo: We're here.
Klaus: Thanks.
Hugo: Oh, and Klaus...
Klaus: Yes?
Hugo: About the girl...
Klaus: Hmmm?
Hugo: Don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Klaus: Ok...
Klaus: Something caught my eye once again... this time, maybe for the worst, I thought.
Klaus: The dark destroyer...
Klaus: I had reached the conclusion that someone was most definitely playing games...
Klaus: ... and I wasn't liking it one bit.
Klaus: I had concluded that things were starting to take their place now. There wasn't long left. I decided to turn in early to hop into bed, maybe to reflect upon the recent events before I dropped off. It was nothing like that. I couldn't sleep one wink. There I was, laid in bed staring at the ceiling all night thinking about what I was going to do next...
Klaus: Trust Alicia? Be straight with Hugo? I was really hoping that there wasn't too sides to this. I had to find out who was the good guy and the bad guy in all of this. I'd been baffled by the amount of help I'd been offered, but I knew someone was playing games... whether it was them, or somebody else...
Klaus: Maybe sit them both down and make ends meet? No Klaus, that could have devestating consequences. I needn't mind too much about this, only about getting the girl to safety. I had almost swore I'd get her safe again even if it was the last thing I did. Just to prove myself. I may or not know what the aftermath of that was, but it'd became my ultimate aim.
Klaus: I always started my days thinking that everyday is an oppurtunity to open new doors. To make a fresh start. To do something you'd always wanted to do. But it never works. Not in my eyes, at least. To me, it's just another day. It's just the result of some Maulinian boffins inventing time. My change came after events.
Klaus: My changes came after hard contemplation and consideration. Something big could only knock Klaus off-course...
(SMASH!)
Klaus: I had done something bad. Real bad.
Thug: Oi, come on lads! Torch the place! DO IT! NOW! (Cackles)
Thug: Haha! How'd you like this, Hagel!?
Klaus: Alongside corridors, another thing I'd lived my life willing to forget is fire and its sheer destruction. When your friends and many innocents are trapped inside a burning hospital in Rochesberry, what do you think? What do you say? What do you do?
Klaus: I felt like the sleeping demons inside of me had woken up, grown fangs and were now eating away at my insides... just like that.
Thug: Keep going lads! I'm not leaving this place until I see that cold-hearted bastard DEAD!
(The sound of glass smashing and burning fills the room over the voices of the thugs)
Thug: It's time to get out, guys!
Thug: Not yet, I don't care if you get hurt, you need to do what's best for us, and best for that motherfucker! DIE!
Thug: HUH!
Klaus: GET OFF MY PROPERTY YOU BASTARD! Ressu, don't fucking move no more! GET UP HERE!
Ressu: (Barks)
Klaus: I know boy, I know! Come here, boy!
Klaus: Oh, fuck...
(BOOM!)
(The thugs shouting and screaming is heard silently in comparison to the outburst of fire that soars through the room)
Klaus: There was no way through... the thugs had made complete and utter mincemeat of the lower section of my house.
Klaus: Now, there was only one way out...
Ressu: (Barks)
Klaus: I'm sorry Ressu, but we've got to do this! I'VE GOT TO DO THIS! COME ON!
Ressu: (Barks vigorously in fear)
(Fire is heard as it rips through the remainder of the house)
Klaus: Here goes...
Klaus: Hang on in there Ressu, I'm coming right for...
(KA-BOOM!)
(The enormous outburst of the explosion soars through the house vigorously)
(The remaining floorboards crackle and squeak under their own pressure)
(SMASH!)
Klaus: As I waded through the water... I took a deep breath... the combination of my time spent under water, the immense shock...
Klaus: ... and of course the terrifying consequences...
Ressu: (Whimpers)
Klaus: It's ok, Ressu. It's ok now, boy...
Klaus: Seeing what I had worked for my whole life going down in flames... I was distraught. I had never known fear like it.
Klaus: ... and then one of those bastards came up to me, and he got what was coming to him alright. The bastards. Then, of course... there was only one way out, up and over the balcony.
Hugo: Look's like you're in serious shit, pal...
Klaus: Watch Ressu. He's not too keen in places he isn't familiar with...
Hugo: Oi, Ressu! Stop that! If you think it's ok to go and chew up my furniture then you sir, you've got another thing coming! You can pay for that!
Klaus: Oh, of course... that's entirely possible isn't it, Hugo? Very good joke.
Hugo: Hey, I'm sorry Klaus...
Hugo: Couldn't you just send him to a doggy day care centre?
Klaus: Another good joke there, Hugo... but I haven't got the money.
Hugo: I suppose...
Klaus: Thanks for offering to look after him by the way...
Hugo: (Grunts)
Klaus: It dawned upon me in the bathroom that I didn't want to be seen with plasters stuck all over my face. I was a mess. The house and many of my possessions had gone, but that didn't mean I couldn't move on. Grrrggh... ah. Ah! Ah! Ah! Oooh...!
Klaus: AGGGGGHHH!
Hugo: Klaus?
Klaus: (Exhaling) Yes... Hugo?
Hugo: Is everything alright in there? Heaven help us if that journalist gave you something nasty regarding the gentlemen's region...
Klaus: No, Hugo. I'm not on the toilet.
Klaus: Again... I did the best thing I could do at that moment. Think.
Klaus: And it wasn't doing that much help to be perfectly honest. I worried. I always feared the worst, especially in cases like this. What had I done wrong? What had I got myself into?
Klaus: I somewhat wanted the old me back. Rude, selfish, arrogant, but loaded in cash and living the high life. Being the 'new' Klaus wasn't seeming to be getting me anywhere. It was kind of a case of one step forward and two steps back. Herbonn looked dismal when everything was going good for me. And now... I'd never seen it in such a light. It was beautiful, if you ignore the damage that I had caused it of course.
Hugo: Hey, look... everything's going to be ok, right Klaus?
Klaus: Don't give me words of encouragment Hugo... can't you see I'm not in the mood? I just want this to end.
Hugo: It's barely even started.
Klaus: Oh yeah... but what do you think it feels like to be me, hey!? This has gone on for too long. You know, you can make a change in a night. You can go to bed a bastard and wake up the greatest guy known to man.
Hugo: Except... it isn't like that?
Klaus: No... it's not.
Hugo: Hmmm... is this about someone?
Klaus: The girl?
Hugo: Which girl, more to the point?
Klaus: It's not just Maria.
Hugo: Then who is it then? I can't help you if you don't tell me, you know Klaus?
Klaus: It is the journalist. For one moment I thought for once that I've found a journalist with a heart.
Hugo: Really?
Klaus: And... I thought I was in love.
Hugo: (Sighs)
Klaus: You know, for a guy like me... it feels like a blessing to be loved. All I've ever known is pain. Living up to your eyes in cash, sure... it's fun. But you know, meeting guys like you... my eyes have really opened about Alterra. I've learnt that it's more than just money that makes the world go round. There's love involved, too.
Hugo: Yeah... you're right. I think you should make her straight with you, Klaus. If you don't ask, you don't get.
Klaus: I never trust journalists...
Hugo: What makes you think you have to trust her? She may just be another journalist...
Klaus: Only she's not though, is she?
Hugo: I'll make a few phone calls. Find out where she lives.
Klaus: That following day... I had found where she had lived. I'd only known her for a few days, but within those few days I'd discovered that I loved her. It didn't make perfect sense that I didn't know her phone number nor her address.
Klaus: Arriving at her house, I'd realized that today everything was playing into my hands...
Klaus: She was just leaving the moment I'd arrived. Did I stop her? Did I tail her to see where she was heading?
Klaus: Oh, shit... My heart skipped a beat. The police brush past me, unwary of my registration plate, of the car that they were trying to hunt down...
Klaus: I'd left it too late to stop her now. Regardless, I would have chosen the latter option anyway. I was tracing her footsteps.
Klaus: I was becoming increasingly worried. Something wasn't right here.
Klaus: She was leaving town... but why?
Klaus: Reel her in, Klaus... enough is enough.
Alicia: Would you like to explain to me why on Alterra you did that!? I was scared, good and proper, Klaus!
Klaus: Why was you scared?
Alicia: I thought that something was wrong! Why would you need to chase me?
Klaus: I wasn't chasing you. I didn't want you to stop.
Alicia: What?
Klaus: You know, I was concerned for you Alicia...
Alicia: Concerned?
Klaus: I've been questioning my trust over you lately.
Alicia: Oh, please... not this again. What's wrong?
Klaus: Was you really in the club that night for Najjar? Are you sure?
Alicia: Well, why would I have told you to go and terminate him?
Klaus: Giving orders like that... that's not what journalists do.
Alicia: Whether you like it or not, Klaus... you can't be an outsider. You can't be like the rest of them all, pitying journalists like that...
Klaus: How come?
Alicia: There as many ways to be a journalist as there are journalists... what part of that do you not understand!?
Klaus: I'm concerned, you know? You're not in that kind of line of work to give those orders...
Alicia: No but...
Klaus: Wait a minute... but are you?
Alicia: Wh... what are you implying?
Klaus: You know exactly what I'm implying, Alicia...
Alicia: Are there any heads up of the missing girl?
Klaus: My house was torched last night...
Alicia: What!? That... that's absolutely devastating news!
Klaus: All my possessions... everything that I have worked for.
Alicia: Goodness gracious...
Klaus: And I want to know if you might know anything about that...
Alicia: What!? Please don't say you're accusing me of being responsible for such an awful thing! Who do you think you are!?
Klaus: Alicia...
Alicia: What on Alterra is this!?
Klaus: You told me to kill Najjar...
Alicia: Keep your voice down!
Klaus: You see, this is the problem. You want to keep things confidential. There is something going on in there and I bloody well want to know what it is.
Alicia: (Whipsering sternly) But how could you possibly accuse me of such a thing?
Klaus: You want me to tell you why?
Alicia: Ok...
Klaus: I'll tell you why.
Alicia: Ok, so come on then!
Klaus: You tell me to kill Najjar. You say you've gathered enough information to label him as the bad guy in all of this. You thought he knew something about Maria!
Alicia: He knew Stephan, Klaus!
Klaus: Everybody knew him once the news of his death was read out on the TV!
Alicia: Something wasn't right between the pair of them, though...
Klaus: He knew him alright, but I wasn't at all convinced that he was the bad guy.
Alicia: Who in this do you even consider the bad guy?
Klaus: The only bad guy I can label is the guy who snatched Stephan's daughter. Now why is it... that as soon as I kill Najjar, a dozen crackhead bastards come smashing my door down and torching my home... my possessions!?
Alicia: I have nothing to do with this.
Klaus: Of course you don't...
Alicia: Not that I know of.
Klaus: Excuse me?
Alicia: What?
Klaus: Say that again...
Alicia: I said... not that I know of...
Klaus: Right, we're making progress here.
Alicia: (Sighs)
Klaus: How am I supposed to love you if I don't trust you? There's got to be something you're not telling me here, Alicia...
Alicia: Do you even understand the meaning of love?
Klaus: ...
Alicia: Hey?
Klaus: No, not particuarly. But it's beside the point!
Alicia: That night, you made a commitment to me. You stick by me. You do as I say.
Klaus: Nobody controls me.
Alicia: ...
(Klaus grapples Alicia's thigh underneath the table)
Klaus: If you think you can give me orders sunshine, think again. Don't play games with me here. I've already had a queer message placed alongside my stolen car. The Dark Destroyer. Tell me what you know about him.
Alicia: Not much.
Klaus: Tell me!
Alicia: I'm being honest, Klaus. Not much. But that doesn't mean I don't know him at all.
Klaus: Thank you.
Alicia: He's not a good man. He... he's the bad guy in all of this.
Klaus: Tell me more.
Alicia: I really, really am not supposed to be doing this Klaus...
Klaus: Be straight with me, Alicia. For our love.
Alicia: (Sighs)
Klaus: Look me in the eye... and tell me who he is.
Alicia: ...
Klaus: Now.
Alicia: He leads me.
Klaus: ...
Alicia: He is my employer. I am not doing this to hurt you Klaus...
Klaus: ...
Alicia: I am doing this to help you... but in effect, hurt my own reputation.
Klaus: (Whispers) Thank you.
Alicia: He knows.
Klaus: He knows?
Alicia: He knows about Maria.
Alicia: He... he's the guy, Klaus. This is it. I've been waiting for this moment but... I've not plucked up enough courage to tell you. If you promise to kill him and let me free, I'll show you the way to his lair.
Klaus: I promise.
Harry: Hello Klaus.
Harry: Here's what's going to happen. Thanks for serving me over these years, you know... being the boss of Wardline and everything. I really couldn't have been the man I am today if it was without your presence. But now, you can rest. Let me do the talking.
Harry: Let me be the boss. Step back. Relax. Relax... relax! You just need to relax! Breath! Think of life, and it's many wonders. Relax Klaus, you just need to relax. Leave the hard work to me, fellow. It's time.
Klaus: Where is she?
Harry: Which one? (Chuckles) We've got a lot to get through first...
Klaus: What kind of trick is this?
Harry: Remember this place, Klaus?
Klaus: With fond memories.
Harry: Yeah, isn't she just a beauty? I think following the explosion is just made her look... hmm well, more authentic, more abstract. Unique, don't you think? Ha, you did this place a favour. She's beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous.
Klaus: Why do you bring me here?
Harry: Dane said this place belonged to him, right?
Klaus: Right.
Harry: No! (Chuckles) It's mine. All mine! MY EMPIRE! (Cackles)
Klaus: ...
Harry: I expanded my empire following Stephan's death. This is what he made us. Rivals? No... too harsh. Companions, more like.
Harry: You get yourself into shit and I watch over you. Support you, feed you, care for you... control you. Boss you.
Klaus: No, that's wrong.
Harry: Really? Well, these guns say I do, isn't that right Jakob?
Jakob: (Chuckles) A-yes!
Harry: Sorry, Klaus. You need a break. Everybody needs a break. I mean, we're only human, am I right? You just need to relax! I have everything... absolutely everything under control!
Klaus: Ok, move on...
Harry: No. I'll do things at my own pace, thank you very much.
Klaus: (Sighs)
Harry: Now now! Don't pile all the blame on me Klaus. Ignore what that bitch of mine says, the journalist.
Klaus: You better have not laid a finger on her!
Harry: No...
Klaus: ...
Harry: Not yet. (Chuckles) You know, there's many things you may take into consideration. Alicia. Stephan. Hugo. Najjar. They're just GODFORSAKEN NAMES! DO YOU KNOW THAT!? Names, that's all...
Harry: They're after you Klaus...
Harry: Now don't go and say I didn't warn you... because they are!
Klaus: What kind of game are you playing!?
Harry: Your car?
Klaus: ...
Harry: Your house?
Klaus: ...
Harry: Your ego.
Klaus: ...
Harry: (Chuckles) Haha! So funny! I was in hysterics!
Klaus: Alicia has been feeding you the information?
Harry: Yes.
Klaus: ...
Harry: Najjar wasn't the one. He has nothing to do with Maria!
Klaus: Tell me where she is!
Harry: No. Oh... love! Love! Oh, so wonderful. Klausy-boy, you're in love with the girl. So sweet. 'Terminate Najjar'. 'Oh! Yes sweetie, anything for our everlasting love!'
Klaus: ...
Harry: You only live once. Once in your life you have to be in control. (Looks around the building) I got greedy, I guess. (Chuckles)
Harry: You know what it's like not to be loved, Klaus. As do I.
Klaus: I am in love.
Harry: With your car... your dog... your bank account. (Chuckles) Alicia? Failing to trust her well and trully? I don't recall that as being what's known as love. Your turn to sit back. My turn to lecture. My turn to teach. My turn to educate you, Klaus.
Klaus: ...
Harry: Look at Eva, look at Matti. Stephan as well! Things worked out for them so... so well!
Klaus: If you've laid a finger on them I swear I'll...
Harry: Oooh, what!? Fire me!? (Chuckles) Of course, you won't be held responsible for it when you find that I've jumped off the top of the office block will you? Hmm?
Klaus: Fuck you.
Harry: Now, now... no need for that is there? Naughty, naughty Klaus! Somebody looks like they're in for a spanked bottom! Hmmm!?
Klaus: SHUT YOUR FACE!
Harry: Hush, hush, hush little baby! I'm in control, Klaus! Let me do the talking! Relax! (Chuckles) Oh, I'm sorry. Did you fail to understand that instruction? Life is full of following orders. Live with it! This is just a taste of what I experience everyday walking into WARDLINE!
Klaus: ...
Harry: Now, I want to show you something. I want to show you true love.
Klaus: Oh, wow. What are you going to do? First girls? Now fully-grown men? What kind of sick fuck are you Harry, seriously?
