PAINT IT CRIMSON [01/01/15]
Luke: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you tonight to the Crimson Media Headquarters, we've turned our conference room into somesort of function room tonight. That's right - remember what we used to say, funeral wakes and wedding cakes, Crimson Leisure? Veronika would know a lot about that. That's exactly why we've came here tonight, to reflect on the past, to honour each and everyone of you here who have made everything Crimson has done possible... but I'd just like to say that we aren't all here tonight, and that's unfortunate. In fact not even a majority of us are, but it what it is. Que sera sera and all that shizz. I'd also like you to join me in celebration of the year... the years, as we look at the future just as much. We'll look at the past to see how it has shaped the present and WILL shape the future. Many of you will be expecting me to put up a photo album on the arcanet or something, but tonight, this year, it won't be like that.
Luke: The past year has been, without a shadow of a doubt, different to the kind of years that we're used to. You got Alytna Large last week and you've been teased the fourth series of Evil Born Evil. In Altermedia, not much else has occured. However, we've had An Afternoon With Mark, Paddy & Sally on Marvegan radio and we've also had Gabriel Villaverde hosting his own TV show in Riberia. Unfortunately, the quad collpased earlier in the year when we lost Bernie Rickard... and it hasn't been the same way ever since. While some of us have headed off in a new direction and despite a decrease in the things we loved at Altermedia, we still continued. But it's time for change. I bear that change and I'm to reveal it to you tonight. Don't worry, there's little wait, for there is no reason to wait. Tonight is the start of something new. It's going to change your life in some way, shape or form... and for the better.
Luke: Tonight is an opportunity to reflect. Look, but do not stare. What we've done is not what we yearn for now. We're looking for new things. New challenges. We need to freshen things up.
Luke: We need to put an end to some things and we need to put a start to new things before it's too late. Because everyone in this room is no stranger to success and we strive for it so badly - and some of the things I'm about to announce will allow us to grapple that success by the horns and take it like we mean it.
Luke: If we didn't mean it... then none of this would happen.
Luke: We all go through changes. Look at me, for example. Can you point your finger at me and say 'that's the guy?' Probably some of you didn't recognise me as you walked through those sacred doors not so long ago. It represents a new me. I'm not asking you to change... but changes influenced by decisions I've made are the best for you, they're what you're going to have to accept, respect and honour.
Luke: My father deserves a lot of that tonight. Honour. He didn't get me here. That I did myself with your support. But he got me started. That is one of the most fundamental elements to success... if it is not that then hear me brothers and sisters, IT IS the most important element to success. Starting that journey... because if you never start that journey then you'll never end it. There's a goal waiting for you and it's going to sit there looking all pretty with a nice big smirk plastered on it's face, wailing 'Come and get me!'
Luke: The story began with Sim Gear and after a few series it became a worldwide success and Alterra saw it as a replacement for Full Throttle - it became the forefront of motoring television. My good friend Gabriel Villaverde took it on as I had other ideas - ideas that Gabriel himself had put into my head. That's Evil Born Evil. I mean it's quite revolutionary that thus far, we've made five series of that yet only three ever existed.
(Audience chuckles)
Luke: But they were all worth it. I had to start somewhere and Evil Born Evil wouldn't have became the success it is today if it didn't have those mistakes there for me to correct only a year ago. It felt great to go back, too. But do you know what I did earlier that year? Hail Storm.
Luke: Hail Storm was a whole new experience for me, it was a movie. I'd became a film director and I was working with Randolph Compier, an award-winning studio chairman and producer that I also have to thank my brother Ralph a lot for, he got me in touch with him. Now I enjoy TV producing, but when I tried film, it felt different. I made mistakes. It wasn't a blockbuster but it got recognition I could cherish and it got a cult following it. It was a success. Alytna Large, additionally, hasn't been in cinemas a week yet, but it's already grossed more than Hail Storm.
(Audience applauds)
Luke: Thank you... thanks. Thank you very much. It felt different and it felt like a new challenge. I felt like I found my path in life. I felt like I knew what I was doing and I was loving every moment of it. So today I have an announcement.
Luke: It's been a quiet year so I can come out with it and tell you all that I've been examining my options. Now I've made my decision. As of next year, I'm going to be leaving Crimson Media and I'm going to pursue an expansion of my career in the film industry, so unfortunately, I will no longer be writing, directing or producing TV anymore.
Luke: So leaving Crimson behind, what does that mean? Well I can tell you that Crimson isn't going anywhere, it's just me. I'm going to continue to reside in Lystow but I'm also delighted to have found new residence in Lloyds City in Barmera. I'm going to be heading over there in the new year and beginning this new life.
Luke: Like I've previously stated, tonight is a night to reflect but also look towards the future. Crimson is my baby, so I was honoured to know that members of the company that are staying on have allowed me to assemble the crew, the people that are going to continue to bring you Evil Born Evil among other projects. Now unfortunately my new writer and producer can't make it tonight... HE is in Yarasem arranging cast and crew for the upcoming fifth series that will be set in Denland, as always... alongside Favrette in Maulinia and Hang Che island of indeed, Yarasem. We can also announce the new protagonist for this series which will be none other than the spectacular Christian Houson.
(Audience applauds)
Luke: The foundations are in place, so now it's down to my old pal Tony Wright to impress, which I'm sure he will. So what about my place? What about the people who are going to be the faces of the new Crimson? Luckily, you're going to be aware of all of them.
Luke: It gives me great pleausre to announce that the Vice Chairman position holder at Crimson Media isn't changing... and that man in it's place is none other than Hector Vercoe!
(Audience applauds)
Luke: Next? I've been massively impressed by his skills this year and his support with Crimson's finances, so Crimson's new business development manager is Mr Adam Lawson!
(Audience applauds)
Luke: Our PR officer and secretary role remains with Miss Esra Watson... or should I say the future Mrs Esra Thunberg!
(Audience cheers and applauds)
Luke: But of course... most importantly, we're going to need a new chairman. You know, back when I was a youngster growing up in a family knowing business and business only, my father was pretty shocked when he found out what I wanted to with my life. The job position he was going to give to me as vice-chair of the Optima Group went to this man instead, but now he evidently can't resist the temptation that show business has too! Ladies and gentlemen, give a big hand for Ralph Enfield!
(Audience applauds)
Luke: Come on Ralph, give us a few words!
Ralph: Wow, wow! I'm blown away by your response ladies and gentlemen, I WAS NOT expecting that!
Ralph: I've seen and heard Luke's situation and I've empathised with him. Clearly. I've stepped down from my position as vice-chair of Optima and I heard a few rumours after that in which I'd defect to Crimson in some way. Well now you have your answers. I'm not going to give you a whole speech about how I want to bring this company in a new direction... the direction it's on right now is just right. All the right foundations are in place. So much work... so much time and effort has been put into this company despite a lack of productions for the world to see. The hard work's been done now, our decisions have been made and I'm ready to make this work.
Ralph: I have left, effectively, the family business. Optima is a huge telecommunications company that was founded by mine and Luke's father, Stephen Enfield. When he was around, he always told us two and Rose... he told us all to follow our heart, no matter what. Dad learnt that this family wasn't going to always go down the business route. I mean, we all have... but not as he would've expected. He was the first in the family, in fact, to recognise this and he encouraged us three to never force it upon our grandchildren. None of us have them yet... but we'll promise that we'll work on it.
(Audience chuckles)
Ralph: Luke and I have managed to sort out our differences over the course of this year and I'm glad that we have. It's made me realise that he couldn't have left Crimson in a better place. I'm so familiar with this place yet it feels an honour right now in this moment to be saying these words and I never expected to... but I always knew I'd be playing some part in this. This magnificent success story. Big names have came and gone but I'm committed to this project and I vow to not let you down with the running of it.
Ralph: As Luke said, the positions we're in now are the positions we believe are best suited for us. If they're not, meaning if things go tits up? Well, it would've been worth a try. Thank you.
(Audience chuckles and applauds)
Luke: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Crimson Media 2015! My sincere honour goes out to these guys but just as much, my honour goes to you guys. I've compiled some images of each and everyone of you from earlier today in our New Year's Celebrations, consider this as one big massive thank you to you all.
Like always, I'd like to address you, the audience, appropriately... and thank you too for the time and support you've given me and Crimson. In fact, I'd like to thank you on behalf of the whole of Altermedia. Without you, none of this would've been possible. So I think we deserved a reward.
Something like a shopping trolley race in a deserted Eason supermarket in the early hours of New Year's day. That sounds like something An Enfield would do.
Maria: You're going down you Denevo's!
Mark: I guess that means I'm not elegible to push you then!?
Maria: Like a horse race, it's the horse that recieves the honours after victory, NOT THE JOCKEY!
Mark: But I'm doing all the hard work, so I AM THE HORSE!
Maria: JUST PUSH ME! GRRR...!
Luke: And an Enfield and an Esra have prevailed!
Maria: ARE prevailing, but hasn't yet prevailed entirely!
Luke: Where's your muscles, Davison!?
Mark: I must've left them in The Wasteland! I suppose it's too late to go back?
Luke: Well I'm heading that way soon, do you want me to go pick them up for you?
Mark: G'won then. Ta, pal.
Going 'that way'? This is what we did to kill time while I waited for my lift to begin my new life in Barmera.
Esra: NO! NO WAY!
Maria: Who is it!? Oh, hang on! I know her!
Mark: I don't believe it... I honestly don't!
Luke: So... are you ready for this?
Nicole: More than ready. You?
Luke: Oh yeah, I'm ready...
