Jan: You don't seem convinced?
Rufus: I'm happy, but I've also got a lot of other things going on right now to cancel most of that happiness out.
Jan: Anything I can help you with?
Rufus: Not in particular.
Jan: Ah c'mon, you know how I helped you before with Rebecca and the lawyer escapade...
Rufus: I do and I'm most grateful for that, but this is more personal. These issues I probably can deal with myself.
Jan: Suit yourself! But, hey... it's not Michael is it?
Rufus: Well... why would it be?
Jan: He seems strangely out of place, too.
Rufus: I think that's normal, he's getting old... and he doesn't want to live this life much longer.
Jan: But he's still a very capable man in this field...
Rufus: I know, and that's what I'm trying to convince him to believe.
Jan: He was a different man six years ago, though. I would be lying if I said he hasn't changed. You know, in the March of 2008 we had this uh... terrorist threat from a Rochesberrian man called Makena. You know the bank tower... the big skyscraper downtown? I had a client who was making me a lot of money on floor seventy-four. Never had I seen Michael move so fast. In fact he got from here to that very floor in under twenty minutes before the meeting began. If he were to arrive a moment or two later, that entire room would've been blasted, a few dozen human remains would have to be cleared and my organisation would be in unprecedented instability. After all, I couldn't afford to lose Michael then.
Rufus: No you couldn't. I remember, he was good back then.
Jan: But you were in prison, no?
Rufus: Later.
Jan: Oh, is that so?
Rufus: So so, hang on... let me get this straight - Michael began work for you before I even got to prison?
Jan: It appears that way, yes...
Rufus: So he's lying... he kept the secret for two months. Two whole months prior to my sentencing he was doing this behind my back!
Jan: It's best not to get too concerned, Rufus. Perhaps he was just consolidating his choice before he brought you in.
Rufus: What did he do to Makena?
Jan: He threw him off that floor and his body went splat! on the ground.
Rufus: I remember it on the news. It was serious stuff. But he's kept it from me.
Jan: You should probably query him my boy. I'm going to get another drink.
Jan: Do join us when you can.
Rufus: Erm, excuse me?
Dempsey: Fuck off. I'm having a bath.
Rufus: I can see that... but I was just wondering if I could ask you something...
Dempsey: ...
Rufus: Do you know where Michael went?
Dempsey: No. I don't. Sorry.
Rufus: Oh. Okay. Never mind. Thanks anyway...
Rufus: ...
Dempsey: Quit staring at me, Yeoman.
Rufus: I'm... I'm sorry but have we met before?
Dempsey: No.
Rufus: I'm Rufus. Rufus...
Dempsey: I know who the fuck you are Yeoman. Leave me alone in peace.
Rufus: But who are you?
Dempsey: My name is Dempsey. I'm Stefan's beloved wife.
Rufus: Ah. Good...
(Doorbell rings)
Rufus: Coco? H... how are things? I'm so glad to see you. Listen honey, I'm sorry about everything recently, I just want us to make things right, you know?
Coco: I know, Rufus. We need to sort this mess out. I don't need your money...
Rufus: Okay. Okay. You got it.
Coco: I know where Rebecca is. Tomorrow we're going to go there and fill her in on something I think she should know...
Coco: (Snuffles)
Rufus: Hey, hey... what's the matter sweetheart!?
Coco: ... but I do need you.
Rufus: ... why?
Coco: I'm pregnant.
Coco: (Cries)
Rufus: Oh... come here...
Rufus: Hey Michael.
Michael: Oh... hey Rufus. You good?
Rufus: I'm good. Or you would imagine so. I'm GOLD rich... plus - Coco is pregnant.
Michael: ... Coco? That's brilliant news. But... I didn't know she had a boyfriend.
Rufus: Well... I think she does now.
Michael: So who's that?
Rufus: It's me.
Michael: ...
Rufus: Hmm... it's me.
Michael: But I thought you were with Rebecca?
Rufus: Well we never really left the court on good terms... just as well, I haven't heard anything from her since.
Michael: But you made a big mistake.
Rufus: I know. One that's probably irreversible.
Michael: So what are you going to do now?
Rufus: Keep on goin'. What else can I do?
Michael: You're certainly gonna' have to put the money from the score we jus' pulled off into that kid though, there's no point in the fast cars and the even faster women just yet.
Rufus: Michael - I have pretty much everything I want. There'll be no women like how you think. Your time'll come too - I'm sure none of them want to get laid with a man who'll probably lose his erection during intercourse.
Michael: My sex life is perfectly okay, Rufus. Yours clearly isn't. I think you're sticking it in places where it's not needed?
Rufus: Oh yeah!? Then what do you think will happen when you become physically and emotionally attached to someone? Huh!? Oh, I'm sorry - you never have!
Rufus: I know your secrets, Michael. I know that you are a selfish, old prick.
Michael: Charming...
Rufus: March 2008. The Seehbom Bank Tower. Jan told me everything.
Michael: Good.
Rufus: Oh, it's good is it!? Now that makes perfect sense!
Stefan: So here I am.
Jan: Sit down.
Stefan: So what's the big deal?
Jan: A feel a great sense of fallacy, Stefan. I've misestimated the whole entire situation.
Stefan: Do tell...
Jan: This guy... Rufus Yeoman?
Stefan: Uh-huh.
Jan: I told him at the party how Michael and I worked alongside each other prior to his time in jail. Unfortunately these two are uncle and nephew and they've done everything together since they were young.
Stefan: I see. But now everything's okay, right? We have them both working for us. We successfully pulled off a heist which they both played a very underlying part in. They should have nothing to hide between each other.
Jan: That's not all, Stefan. Me and you have both seen what Yeoman is capable of.
Stefan: Yes, indeed. It's of a pretty high standard...
Jan: I think we may have one or two problems...
Stefan: Okay.
Jan: Back before his spell in prison he was very prosperous... not as much as we are, but as an individual? Probably one of the top dangerous men in this city... perhaps even in the whole of Goldshores or even the whole of the east coast...
Rufus: So how come I was never included back then?
Michael: I wanted to know that we were going down the right route with Bakker before I dragged you in.
Rufus: You, Michael. Not we. You.
Michael: That ain't true.
Rufus: Oh yes it is! Never has something been truer!
Michael: What does it matter!? You were HELL-BENT on making money back then yet now you're not!? You really wanna' settle down and keep an just maintain what you've got? Really?
Rufus: Yes. Look what happened when I didn't maintain what I had last time and pushed for more - I got framed for a murder and got six years in jail for something different completely.
Michael: Yet I swear you were adamant to make dough as soon as you got out of there.
Rufus: Someone convinced me otherwise.
Michael: Oh, I see! Coco's giving you life advice is she? Well don't listen to it.
Rufus: I'll choose who I do and don't listen to Mike.
Michael: ... and I suppose I'm not one of them?
Rufus: Correct.
Stefan: Does this regard what I think it does?
Jan: I think so. If you're thinking of something else then I would have to belittle your memory.
Stefan: We were just doing what anyone of our nature would do. There was nothing against him.
Jan: That is a good point. Yet soon the truth will out.
Stefan: But do we ever want Yeoman to know?
Jan: Of course not. I have no intention on eliminating him. He's a great asset to the organisation.
Stefan: Furthermore, anything you've taken from him before will be returned to him in due course.
Jan: Money isn't an issue for him. To be honest, it isn't for us neither. When you make so much money you cannot simply draw that line between §999 million and §1 billion. It's more money than you ever know what to do with.
Stefan: Well at least you've made yourself very clear there.
Jan: When we become millionaires, we're happy. Our next milestone is to become a billionaire. Otherwise, there are no real specific goals in this line fo work.
Stefan: So what do we do?
Jan: Michael is no longer of use to me, he's getting old. He lacks potential.
Stefan: Certainly. He wasn't greatly beneficial in the bank job.
Jan: Plus we're not sure where his loyalty is - whether it's with me or with Rufus. If it's with Rufus, then we risk losing Rufus too. Perhaps we could do something to convince Rufus that Michael is not loyal to him. I've spilt enough blood as it is.
Stefan: Ah...
Jan: But I could always explain the situation to him. In fact - the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced he'll understand.
Stefan: Good.
Jan: But there's also someone else we must exterminate first. It's your job tonight to fulfil my request.
Stefan: Whatever it takes... I'll be prepared.
Rufus: Remember what I said to you - I'm following you every step of the way. It seems rich coming from you; forgive me, you'll have to pardon that pun... but you were the one who wanted to settle down and retire. Now you're encouraging me to ditch my plans and go all the way to the top?
Michael: Yep. Mark my words - you could make a good protégé for Jan.
Rufus: Fuck off. Bullshit! I don't do people's dirty work for them.
Michael: But you don't understand - you just did. Most of that dough will land in Jan's path but he didn't do jackshit. The right-hand man gets more, too. Especially when he brings his wife into the equation. Now that Dempsey played a part in the heist, to our surprise, more money is effectively heading in Stefan's way. Of course, she'll claim it's for the finances of her boutique but I very much doubt it.
Rufus: I'm about to have a big fall-out with this life.
Michael: You did before and you will again.
Rufus: I'll call you.
Michael: Damn straight...
Coco: Remember to let me talk to her. I know this won't be easy...
Coco: (SCREAMS)
Rufus: What has she done...?
Coco: Rufus...
Rufus: Yeah?
Phone: You have one new message sent on Saturday the 15th of August.
Rebecca: Don't be alarmed. I'm calling from another phone... (sighs)... okay. Whoever hears this message first - whether you're the police... or someone... else, you need to find this man - Michael Kinsley. He's been... he's been tormenting me. I think if things get any worse then... my whole life will be at stake.
Rebecca: It begs the question whether anything left in my life is worth fighting for, however...
Coco: Don't kill him, Rufus. Please. For me.
Rufus: For you? I won't. I just want answers. Although I won't kill him, I can't guarantee whether some form of pain will or won't come his way though.
Rufus: I'll be back as soon as possible.
Rufus: I knew you were hiding something from the start... MICHAEL!
Rufus: AGH MICHAEL! I'M HERE TO FUCK YOU UP!
Rufus: C'MON! COME OUTTA' YA' HIDING SPOT! I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE SOMEWHERE! YOUR CAR'S OUTSIDE! YOU AIN'T FOOLIN' ME!
Rufus: Are you in here ya' little bastard!?
Rufus: FUCK!
Rufus: Well, well, well... as if I didn't know! THE MAN OF THE MOMENT!
Michael: What the hell is this, Rufus!? How did you find me in here?
Rufus: It would seem pretty convenient for you to get some running practice, you're on the run. From everybody. Including me, it would seem.
Michael: I have no idea what you're talking about...
Rufus: OH YES YOU DO! You selfish cunt... I knew FROM THE START that it was you who had this all PERFECTLY crafted!
Michael: Rufus, back off! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
Rufus: Nothin', Michael. Nothin'. What is wrong with you... and WHAT DID REBECCA EVER DO TO YOU!?
Michael: What!?
Rufus: EXACTLY!
Michael: AGH!
Michael: Please, please Rufus! Just stop this! You gotta' tell me what this is about or I can't help you!
Rufus: Oh I'm not here to be helped! OH NO! I'M HERE TO AVENGE REBECCA'S DEATH!
Michael: What the fuck!? Rebecca's dead!?
Rufus: Don't act like you don't know... she left a message on her phone. She pointed the blame RIGHT... ON... YOU!
Michael: What did she say!?
Rufus: You've been tormenting her, Michael. You've been manipulating her and endangering her. I hope that separating her sweet head from her body REALLY made you feel good, Mikey-boy!
Michael: She... she got decapitated!?
Rufus: THAT'S RIGHT! IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE BRUTAL, COULD IT!? You must've really had it in for poor, poor Rebecca...
Michael: Listen Rufus...
Rufus: Don't you remember? I vowed to ignore your ass after our last little altercation!
Michael: But you need to listen to get ANSWERS!
Rufus: I'D RATHER YOU BE DEAD!
Michael: Oh yeah! You're own INNOCENT uncle!? Is that really how you roll, Rufus? I thought Coco might've reformed you! Made you a better man! But it seems you're as blind as the rest of 'em!
Rufus: Who's the 'rest' of 'em then!?
Michael: I'm here to help, okay Rufus... I promise I will help here okay...?
Rufus: FUCK YOU!
Michael: Look - I know it's hard to believe me right now but I swear I'll have you certain that I didn't even touch Rebecca.
Rufus: ...
Michael: I'm going to ask you some questions and... (coughs)... you answer them, alright?
Rufus: This'd better be good...
Michael: The cut of the head, Rufus... were there any other marks on the body?
Rufus: No!
Michael: Any messages?
Rufus: Only the one on the answer machine!
Michael: Did you examine her corpse? Do you know what kind of weapon could've done it?
Rufus: I don't know!
Michael: Axe!? Chainsaw!? What!?
Rufus: I'd probably guess it was an axe! WHERE THE FUCK DID YOU GET AN AXE FROM!?
Michael: That's the point, Rufus! THERE'S NO NEED FOR ME TO HAVE AN AXE!
Rufus: I'm still not fucking convinced!
Michael: Me and you Rufus... we're recruits to Jan, right? I've been there a lot longer, in fact yes, too long, but it's TRUE that I would rather get killed trying these guys out rather than having you risk your neck also! But we had equal roles in that bank job, okay? We're on the same level in the hierarchy.
Rufus: WHAT DOES JAN HAVE TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS!?
Michael: One night... around about the turn of the decade... I saw something I shouldn't have seen. Stefan killed his wife so he didn't have to sign divorce papers and this meant he could marry Dempsey almost immediately! I swear he cut her head off. I didn't say nothin'. I'd came too far to back down from this establishment, and even though not all of it I like, it made me money I couldn't make anywhere else. But this was just one of the reasons why I was so reluctant to bring you into all of this in the first place!
Rufus: What are you trying to tell me, Michael!?
Michael: Stefan killed Rebecca... and somehow she's linked with Jan! I'm... I'm sorry, Rufus. I'm sorry for your loss. But that's what I think happened. I'm not capable of doin' anythin' like that... you know me.
Rufus: You'd better not be shittin' me. We're goin' to Jan as soon as possible!
Michael: I don't think that's a great idea...
Rufus: It's the best fucking idea ever, right!? That stupid fuck is a snake!
Michael: I'm pretty sure Stefan is the guy you should be worried about...
Michael: I'll be there when you arrive. Good luck.
Rufus: Yeah, whatever...
Coco: What the hell happened!? Why are you letting him get away?
Rufus: He's convinced me someone else did it.
Coco: The call seems pretty clear to me that Michael killed her or at least had something to do with it.
Rufus: Yeah well there may or just as well may not have been a misunderstanding...
Rufus: To be honest, I still don't trust him entirely. If he's settin' me up here and lying through those crooked old teeth of his...
Rufus: ... then I'll kill him.
Rufus: You don't worry about me, okay? I'm going out to solve a thing or two.
Coco: Please... whatever you do... don't get yourself hurt? I know you've done some bad things Rufus, but I'm not prepared to listen to them now. But when you do tell me... we will get you help. It will get better. I promise.
Rufus: I promised that to you too... it's gonna' get better. Well, if there's two of us promising the same thing then I suppose that...
Coco: We've both got to be right.
Rufus: Ha, precisely.
Coco: I know it's probably wrong to but... I love you Rufus.
Rufus: It's not. I love you too.
Coco: It feels so wrong when I think of Rebecca... especially now considering that she's... well... gone.
Rufus: I'm here to take good care of you now.
Coco: Thank you...
Coco: Thank you for everything.
Rufus: I'll see you later.
Coco: Rebecca...
Jan: Michael.
Michael: Jan... we need to talk.
Jan: I think I may understand why...
Michael: Your plot to frame me for Rebecca's murder clearly failed.
Jan: I'd assume that if you are here and not being slaughtered by Rufus that what you've just said may very well be the case.
Michael: So why do it? Huh?
Jan: ...
Michael: What have I ever done to deserve this? I've only ever been straight and true with you. Ultimately loyal. A little birdie tells me that even recently you seem to be appreciative of me. Stopping the terrorist threat. Saving this organisation.
Jan: That was six years ago now Jan, times have changed.
Michael: Yep. So has Rufus. I'm highly anticipating what his reaction will be when he finds out that it was you all along.
Jan: You're a snake, too. Rufus will probably kill us both. You knew that Stefan was going to come in that room and kill Frankie. You could've changed all of that.
Michael: But you wouldn't have allowed it - and I wanted to keep work.
Jan: So you want to put the moolah before the morals!?
Michael: Only now am I beginning to put the morals before the moolah.
Jan: I'm just an overseer in this situation, I'm here to make money, not enemies. Someone's gotta' convince him that Stefan is responsible for everything here.
Michael: Well, a big round of applause for you, Jan. Because you're gonna' make enemies with him. I should probably mention that you've made another enemy too today.
Jan: Who?
Michael: You're lookin' right at him.
Jan: (Whispers) Fuck...
Rufus: AH! There he is! Just the man I've been hopin' to see!
Rufus: WHY REBECCA? WHAT DID SHE EVER DO TO YOU!?
Jan: Rebecca... Rebecca never harmed nobody. Me and you - we just used each other, that's all! It was an action that had to be taken!
Rufus: WHY!?
Jan: She knew about what happened with the money, Rufus. Your money. She let me take over the businesses in her name once you went to jail.
Rufus: What the fuck!? How come I never knew?
Jan: You see - she used you too. Just like I used you. Just like your old buddy Michael did. Oh yeah! He knew! Everyone knew but you! You're too valuable to me though, Rufus. I couldn't lose you. That's why I wanted to dispose of Michael and Rebecca. That way we could do business. You could get everything back that you had lost... and that's the reason why I stole your laundered money and had Stefan kill Frankie... because it was business!
Rufus: It was you all along... I should've known. NONE OF WHAT YOU JUST SAID THERE JUSTIFIES ANYTHING!
Jan: I'M SORRY, RUFUS!
Rufus: NO! NOOOO!
(Gunshots)
Rufus: NO YOU'RE FUCKING NOT!
Rufus: A locked door isn't gonna' stop me you dumb fuck...!
Jan: I'm not dumb! I just did a slight miscalculation! You would be nowhere without my proficiency and knowledge you fucking little monkey!
Rufus: Well we'll see about that...
(Gunshots)
Rufus: SHIT!
Jan: Proficiency. Expertise. Contacts. Rufus, these are the things that you'll never have.
Henchman: AGH!
(Gunshots)
Henchman: Ah, Michael. We have to carry out a duty... to kill your nephew. We can't refuse it... I know it's hard but like I said it's a duty.
Michael: Is he here?
Henchman: Yes. Come on, man.
Michael: Where's Jan?
Henchman: I don't know. Hopefully he's found a hiding space for the time being.
Michael: I really hope he has too.
Henchman: Good. If we can distract Rufus from him then maybe we can get him out alive. If Jan dies then our futures are put at risk. I don't think anywhere else in Brentstone will make us this kind of money.
Michael: No. You're right...
Henchman: Have you got a gun on you?
Michael: Yep, it's right here.
(Gunshot)
Henchman: AGH!
Henchman: Please, have mercy on me! If you don't want to kill Rufus then that is fine, but please don't stop us from doing so.
(Gunshot)
Michael: Not today, bro.
(Gunshots)
Henchman: UGH! AGH!
Rufus: Alright then. That's that.
(Gunshots)
Rufus: FUCK!
(Gunshots)
Henchman: GAAAGH!
Rufus: You overshot that one, Rufus...
Rufus: Agh...
Rufus: I'm still comin' back for you, Bakker.
Henchman: THIS GUY'S MINE!
(Gunshot)
Rufus: ...
Michael: ... impressive.
Rufus: Yep.
Michael: Are you alright?
Rufus: Just about.
Michael: Really? So are we okay now?
Rufus: Yeah, I think. I know that Jan was behind it. Jan had Frankie killed and all my savings were snatched from me. He can't justify it as being business, even though he didn't really know me. Or did he?
Michael: ... (sighs)... he did. Like I said, I told him about you sometimes. They found a weakness in the security of the holding bank in St. Sanen. Stefan got there pretty quickly after he had some sort of business venture in Herbonn. Before you know it, they had guys ciphering bank accounts... not just yours. They didn't realise all that money had been laundered.
Rufus: Then why'd you finally decide to bring me to work with these guys?
Michael: I knew that one day you'd find out. I wanted you to exact your revenge.
Rufus: But you've wasted six years of your life.
Michael: I know. So, you don't have to forgive me for all of this, but I did feel bad as time passed by while you were in jail.
Rufus: You're right - I'll never forgive you for it.
Michael: I'm sorry.
Rufus: ... so am I.
Jan: Rufus!? You still here!?
Jan: What a mess.
Michael: You should've never laundered your money the way you did. That's why I tried to convince you the dangers of it, but you never listened.
Rufus: No, I didn't. But six years on? I think you'll agree with me that I'd be making the right decision to settle down and make use of what I've got now... from the heist. It's more than enough.
Michael: We still haven't been paid, though.
Rufus: You reckon we'll ever get paid now?
Michael: I don't think so...
Henchman: You die motherfucker!
(Gunshot)
Michael: Fuck. Ah, I'm hit!
(Gunshots)
Rufus: DIE! DIE! DIE!
